Meet the Team
Karen Hartline, CEO
With over twelve years of event production experience in areas of recreation, conferences, technology and special events, Karen Hartline brings creativity and a personal touch to create truly special events for her clients, specializing in brand management, event strategy, and production expertise.
Karen’s passion is creating experiences that are engaging and unique, always thinking of what attendees will find interesting. For her, events are about the ultimate experience, starting with attendee registration through the post-event wrap-up email and everything in between. She prides herself on event design and strategy to make an unforgettable event.
Most recently, she worked as the Director of Events at Mashable, producing events such as Connect at Walt Disney World and the Mashable House at SXSW Interactive. Prior to that, Karen worked with Porter Novelli, Brian Solis, Blurb, Community Next and got her start in conference production by planning annual conferences for fraternity and sorority students at Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.
Karen has a B.S. in Recreation Management from the University of Central Oklahoma and a certificate in Meeting and Event Planning from Madison Area Technical College. Karen has completed the Technical Meeting & Event Production class from Event Leadership Institute.
She hails from Oklahoma City and lists college football as one of her favorite seasons of the year as she cheers on the University of Oklahoma Sooners. Las Vegas has quickly become home in her heart where she enjoys spending time with her yorkie terrier, Lucas, exploring downtown Vegas in heels and hosting dive-in movies and dinners at her house on a regular basis.
Angela Giglio, Event Manager
Angela Giglio recently graduated from George Mason University in May of 2015 where she studied Tourism and Event Management. She’s from Northern Virginia but is in the exciting process of moving across the country to Eugene, Oregon. While in college she realized that Event Management was the perfect outlet for her love of details, creativity, and organizational skills. She had several internships ranging from fundraising event planning to corporate event planning, all of which helped grow her passion.
Her previous experience has given her the opportunity to work within Human Resources and Organization Development, which has driven her passion for planning events that bring people together to result in meaningful connections and change. She also enjoys playing around with graphic design as an outlet for her creativity. She’s always up to take on any challenge and is excited to bring her enthusiasm and skills to Reinventing Events.
In her free time she enjoys traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends, pushing herself physically through Crossfit, and trying out new restaurants.
Maria Chalaire, Event Producer
Maria Chalaire graduated from Radford University in 2013 where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Management. Throughout her high school and college years, she had found her calling for event planning. She has always had a knack for creativity, organization, and coordinating. She took these characteristics of hers and dove into event planning head on when she got the first opportunity that came her way. Throughout the years she has planned and implemented numerous events within her schools, organizations, and jobs. She’s also the “go-to” gal for all her friends and family members for event planning. Maria believes in continuous education and has completed the Technical Meeting & Event Production class from Event Leadership Institute.
When Maria isn’t planning events or learning something new, she enjoys immersing in social atmospheres with anyone and everyone. She enjoys quality family and friend time and loves playing with her incredibly cute, yet wild, dog Winston. In addition to that, Maria enjoys exploring new territories, learning and trying out new recipes, and reading a good book on the beach. She has been with Reinventing Events for over three years now and is thrilled with this opportunity as she has such a true passion for this profession and high hopes of where it could lead her in the future.
Paul Zilm, Event Producer
Paul joins Reinventing Events with more than 15 years experience working for sports and entertainment properties across the United States, including high profile events such as the Kentucky Derby. With a focus on box office administration, sales, marketing and live event execution, Paul has managed and participated in the execution of over 600 live events.
As a sophomore in college, Paul realized his passion was in live event experiences and working with groups of dedicated professionals to organize events that businesses and local communities could rally around. Originally from Spokane, WA, Paul relocated to Las Vegas to grow his career in the “Entertainment & Hospitality Capital of the World.”
Paul has one daughter, Madelyn, and when not working or spending time with her, it comes as no surprise that you can usually find him either watching, listening or participating in some sort of sporting event. A loyal Gonzaga Bulldogs fan and men’s basketball season ticket holder, Paul also enjoys running and of course attending the many entertainment options Las Vegas has to offer.
Tiffany James, Event Producer
Tiffany James, CMP is Event Producer at Reinventing Events. She is a seasoned event and meeting planner, with over eight years’ experience in the events industry. She proudly holds a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, which she earned during her 12 year career in the hospitality industry. Tiffany has been responsible for the marketing, planning and management of corporate events, meetings, trade shows and conferences in various roles throughout her career. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications at Eastern Kentucky University, and received a meeting management certificate from the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
Creating experiences is what Tiffany loves most about the events industry. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, live music venues, spending time at the beach, and hanging out with friends and family.
Tiffany Vanarsdel, Operations Manager
While obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Environmental Safety from the University of Central Oklahoma, Tiffany discovered not only did she relish the ins and outs, as well as policies and procedures of business, she realized her knack and delectation of working with numbers, financial aspects, statistics, determining and providing solutions to quandaries, training, monitoring, interacting with, and protecting companies and their staff. With over nineteen years of making things run smoothly in both the public and private sectors, she has a plethora of knowledge and experience she is excited about utilizing to help others prosper.
Tiffany was born and raised in Oklahoma, where she currently resides and runs a rental property company with her father. This was a dream she had as a young girl when her parents made her first home a rental property for others to have a place to call home.
When she isn’t working, you can find this girl with the wind in her hair out riding motorcycles. Tiffany is a certified MSF RiderCoach and enjoys providing others with the tools to ride their own so they can experience the freedom and inspiration they long for as safely as possible. If it is football season, you can bet she will be watching College GameDay followed by a day or two full of yelling at players, refs, and coaches that she knows cannot hear her.
Katie Klepek, Advisor
While Katie has taken a full-time position in Chicago, she played an integral part in establishing Reinventing Events and just can’t step away from the company. She now serves as an Advisor and sounding board for the team. After 10 years in business, finance, communications, and event planning, Katie’s eclectic background has given her a unique perspective which helped her build a solid foundation for the processes the team still implements for production today.
Previously, she was the events coordinator at Mashable, regularly organizing ambitious events like Connect at Walt Disney World and Mashable House at SXSW Interactive. Before Mashable, she developed the year-long events presence for comic book publisher BOOM! Studios, best known for Mark Waid’s award-winning Irredeemable. Katie was the go-to point person at BOOM! Studios, both in-office and out. She oversaw the smallest details to make the biggest impact of booth space at San Diego Comic-Con, the largest annual gathering of like-minded nerds.
Event planning comes natural to Katie. She leverages her natural communication and organizational skills to effectively develop, plan, and deliver successful events. Her specialties: drumming up and executing targeted online marketing initiatives, engaging attendees, and building an online community around events.
Before the economy went belly up, she worked at HSBC, helping to maintaining relationships between citizens affected by the hurricane Katrina disaster and contractors assigned to repairs. Whatever Katie does, it should be fulfilling. A Chicago native, Katie spreads her midwestern cheer wherever it need be.
