On the ground at SXSW

SXSW 2012 was very exciting for Reinventing Events. We had three clients: JuntoBox Films, a collaborative film studio that unites social development with traditional film production, Livefyre, a real-time conversation platform, and TaskRabbit, an online and mobile marketplace that helps people live smarter by allowing them to outsource their errands and tasks. We had a great production partner, Kinney Group Creative, based out of NYC, for extra help on all clients.

Reinventing Events worked with each client’s ideas and transformed them into amazing experiences that were the definitely talked about at SXSW. Each day, we transformed a parking lot a half-block away from the convention center into the rustic-chic TaskRabbit Park, complete with astroturf, furniture, food, and a custom made ranch “Welcome” sign. Each evening had a theme, including a kickoff backyard BBQ, complete with the best Austin BBQ from Franklin Barbecue. After hosting an evening of fried foods and beer, we hosted Detox Day the following day with yard yoga and detox juice. Not even the monsoon-like rain storms could keep us from opening the TaskRabbit Park each day! TaskRabbit even made Mashable’s SXSW Startup Leaderboard and held strong in spot #8!

Livefyre wanted a Burning Man-like party; something completely unlike the normal Interactive events we’re all used to seeing and attending. Taking place is a large parking lot area directly across the street from the Convention Center, we transformed it with pyrotechnics, fire dancers, drummers, and of course, multiple bars to grab a drink from. It was truly a unique experience and everyone had an amazing time!

We were very excited to produce our first SXSW Film event with JuntoBox Films, highlighting a new project that offers $1million each to 5 filmakers to make their film a reality. JuntoBox Films wanted a space for filmakers to hang out, ask questions of experts on hand, and see a sneak peek of the first project that received the green light for production. Hosted at The Hangar, the event was packed to capacity and even had the co-chair of JuntoBox Films, Forest Whitaker, on hand to meet attendees.

Say ‘cheese’!

Reinventing Events had a great time in Austin with our clients! Until next year.
