The 3rd Annual Indoor Ag-Con united farmers, growers, chefs, produce buyers, tech geeks, entrepreneurs, industry suppliers, investors, and advocates in a lively discussion of the future of indoor agriculture in Downtown Las Vegas on March 31 & April 1.
The conference was hosted at MEETLV. This event and meeting venue has won multiple awards including The 2013 Event Solutions Event Site of the Year. MEETLV’s high tech facility is designed to make anything possible, including an indoor agricultural event where two tents were set up for exhibition space. We want to thank all the staff at MEETLV for their amazing service throughout the event!

Exhibitors at Indoor Ag-Con
Indoor Ag-Con’s agenda featured two full days of enlightening presentations and discussions from industry leading speakers, vendor booths located throughout the conference venue, and plentiful networking, including a drinks party at the end of the first day. The conference started off with speakers and panelists offering an overview of the industry, its current status and the themes and ‘big issues’ that matter most to commercial growers and farmers, as well as to industry suppliers. The second day offered a ‘deeper dive’ into the technologies and approaches that work best in indoor agriculture.

Catering and Village Farms Lunch Buffet Collaboration
The Indoor Ag-Con sponsors were wonderful to work with and were very open to collaborate with the conference’s vendors and venue. Indoor Ag-Con fresh produce sponsor, Village Farms, collaborated with the venue catering team to develop fresh and delicious lunch buffet options, featuring their greenhouse gown produce, that pleased all attendees including those with special dietary needs. At the conclusion of the morning session, Village Farm’s Executive Chef took the stage to discuss the menus and food offerings that the attendees were about feast on. In addition, Overstock.com collaborated with the venue caterer to provide organic snack items from their Overstock Farmer’s Market vendors. Also, Project AngelFaces teamed with Indoor Ag-Con producers and the catering vendor to prevent waste and provide food leftovers to hungry elders and youth in the area.

Panelists at Indoor Ag-Con with the Grow Wall in the Background
The Ag-Con sponsors didn’t stop at the menu. Bright Agrotech donated two living walls that were built on-site at the conference venue to use as a back drop for the stage. We really wanted to create a unique backdrop on the stage that was appropriate for the audience. We worked with Ag-Con on a concept of a living wall piece to bring some living aspects to the stage design. The living wall towers featured fresh herbs and produce and provided a beautiful and functional decor element to the staging. At the conclusion of the conference the herbs and produce were sent to a local farmer’s market for the community to enjoy.
Reinventing Events brings together a talented team of vendors to produce our events and we enjoyed working with these vendors on the production: Jenna Dosch Photography, Fremont East Studios, RSVP, and United Rentals. We want to thank you all for your services and for making Indoor Ag-Con a success.
Below is what each Reinventing Events team member enjoyed most about this production:
Debbie Gorov, Event Producer, Las Vegas
I enjoyed working with the client to develop a venue that would please the sponsors, attendees and exhibitors. It was wonderful to be able to connect vendors to sponsors and to work side by side to create beautiful and delicious menus, snack elements and conference decor.
Maria Chalaire, Event Producer, Virginia Beach
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this event production as it was out of the technology-focused realm Reinventing Events is used to working within. I also enjoyed seeing 93.8% registered attendees checked in. Normally events have a much higher rate than 6.2%. Decreased rates like that lead to a larger percentage of eager and thrilled exhibitors, speakers, panelists, and participants who were definitely excited to be a part of Indoor Ag-Con!
Matt McClure, Event Producer, Las Vegas
I really enjoy indoor agriculture as a hobby and it was a blast to work with speakers and content that I could relate to on a personal level. From the design of the stage to the displays in the sponsors booths, it was tough not to constantly “stop and smell the roses.
Reinventing Events was thrilled to work with the Newbean Capital team to produce a successful Indoor Ag-Con conference.
